Client Rights Statement

As a client of Family Counselling Centre you have the right to professional, confidential services that respect your background, culture, beliefs, life experiences and differing needs.

You also have the right to:

Participate in your care

  • Be provided your rights in writing, including the complaint process.

  • Receive clear information.

  • Ask questions and have your questions answered.

  • Actively participate in the planning and delivery of your services.

  • Review and correct information in your agency file/record.

  • Provide feedback about your experience and complain if you believe

  • your rights have been violated.

  • Participate voluntarily in services and withdraw at any time.

Be respected

  • Be treated with dignity and courtesy.

  • Receive services that respect your culture, gender and sexual orientation, and religion.

  • Feel welcome, safe and secure.

  • Access services that are barrier-free and value your independence and equal opportunity.

Quality service and confidentiality:

  • Receive high-quality services conducted in a professional and caring manner.

  • Expect and receive confidential services that respect your privacy.

  • Be informed about client record retention policies prior to the commencement of service.

  • Be informed of services available to you and associated fees.
